Choosing Foods Like These Will Lead To Your Highest Good

Do you think it is funny to see me buying Chocolate Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies when I’m writing a blog on using your mind to train your body?

Trim weight while eating Girl Scout Cookies

Those cute little Scoutsters just kept asking until I said, “yes”.  I was able to tell the first two tables of Girl Scouts several weeks ago, “No thanks, I’m on a diet.”

Same thing said to the little Cutie Pie who rang my doorbell.  It was the third table of Scoutsters a couple of weeks later (when my unconscious mind thought the coast was clear and all the cookies had been sold- silly unconscious mind) that I caved and did what I’d  wanted to do all along and bought a box.

Gertrude, my mischievous inner child, jumped into control and when that happens, Gertrude wants what she wants when she wants it.  Good grief, Gertrude wanted Thin Mint cookies.

That night after dinner I told myself, “I’m already full so it will be safe to open these cookies.  I’ll just eat a couple of cookies”, I opened them.  Yum, they tasted delicious.  They were fabulous!

I ate a couple of cookies and then a couple more and then.  I ate one whole sleeve of them.  That was half the box for the uninitiated.  It didn’t take long for the remaining cookies to begin calling my name (or was it that rascally Gertrude?) and I just had to wolf them down too.

I Lost weight while eating Girl Scout Cookies

Fortunately for me, my waistline and Gertrude the little Scoutsters have gotten more mercenary over the years, so they only give you 9 ounces in a Thin Mint box.  YUM those cookies were good.  It is lucky I still have my pajamas on or I would be out the door to buy another box.  Behave Gertrude!

It is alright for you to have a treat sometimes.  It will just take you a little longer to get to your new weight reduction goal.  That cookie weight came off the following day playing Wii Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party 2.  That game is a fun way to exercise and trim weight.

NLP & Logical Levels

Most of us know what we need to do to trim weight.  I say trim weight because when we lose something that implies to our unconscious mind that we should find it.

  • If you do not know the mechanics of weight reduction there are numerous books, organizations and websites devoted to that kind of information so that you can acquire those capabilities.
  • I will be sharing some valuable information too  along the way.

A lot of the information about trimming weight is at the behavioral level but the most effective interventions in human learning are at the higher logical levels such as spiritual or identity (See Logical Levels at the top of the page to the right of About).

One of the challenges we face when wanting to trim weight is we have to have some nourishment several times each day.

  • It isn’t all or none like someone who wants to stop drinking or using drugs.
  • We neither have to stop eating nor can we be healthy or even alive if we give up eating food.

You are lucky, you  get to keep your food habit but there’s the rub.  We have to make choices.  We can’t just stop eating.  And we have to keep eating periodically for the rest of our lives, making choices about what is more important.

  • Is how much I weigh more important than eating this cookie (or in Gertrude’s case box of cookies) now?

This blog is to help you get what you want concerning your weight by sharing some of  what I have learned in my relationship with food choices throughout my life.  I’ve weighed as much as 200 pounds and as little as 89 pounds neither of these extremes is healthy.
