Logical Levels Bring Value To Your Outcome

If you had information that tapped into your inner wisdom making it as easy and automatic to slim down as it is to breathe how would you use it?

 

Choosing to intervene at a higher logical level in your weight reduction program will be more powerful in getting what you want weightwise. 

The truth is most of us already know how to trim weight we just don’t want to do what it takes to be slimmer.  We already have a slim person inside of us just waiting to get out.

 

Have you noticed there is a difference between talking and thinking about trimming weight and actually slimming down?  Becoming slimmer requires action.  A lifestyle change.  How do you motivate yourself to do it?

 

Could this be you?

  • A workaholic, stressed out, driven person who eats to nurture themselves?

  • Feeling bored,therefore,eating for entertainment.

  • Eating to celebrate an event.

  • Gertrude, oh no – not you again (your rascally inner child), who wants what she wants, when she wants it because she is only three years old and that is what three year olds do.

  • And so much more…

Motivate all of your parts to get onboard with your outcome.

 

How effective will  you be taking  the higher logical level steps to trimming your weight ?

These Logical Levels were identified back in ancient times (the 1970’s) and are as follows:

 SPIRITUAL – Highest level -Vision & Purpose

 IDEBTITY – Who you are.

BELIEFS - These include Values, Permissions & Motivation.

CAPABILITIES – Strengths & Knowledge.

BEHAVIOR – Choices about my actions – Actions & Behaviors.

ENVIRONMENT – What is around you (going on in the world).

 

Each successive Logical Level becomes more abstract but has a much stronger influence on effecting a change in our behavior as we move through the hierarchy of Logical Levels.

 

Dr. Batson hypothesized interventions at the higher Logical Levels were more powerful and effective than at the lower Logical Levels.

 

Spiritual is the highest level of human learning.  It can include formal religion but does not have to be tied to a religious belief system.  It can be God, inner peace, meditation or the white light.  It may be the energy in the universe or your dog (as a Schizophrenic friend once told me).  A prayer can be, God please help me to trim weight in order to be healthier and better able to do your will.  Another spiritual approach to trimming weight is to visualize yourself in  white light in your mind at your ideal weight.  Another possibility is to visualize yourself in the white light in your mind looking down at your scale with your ideal weigh on the scale  readout.

  

Identity is who you are.  Our perceived size is a part of our identity.  I was talking with a reader yesterday who shared that when she reached a specific lower weight that was her signal that it is OK to eat now and did until regaining the previous weight – that was her identity.  My ideal identity would be, “I am a healthy person  living a healthy life style.”  This automatically presupposes I am both attaining and maintaining my ideal weight for my height per my physician.  This is a very useful identity on many levels. 

  

 

 

 

Beliefs are what we think is true about things such as our weight.  “I maintain my ideal weight spontaneously.”  “I am a healthy person who maintains her desired weight.”  “I regain the weight I lose”, is a another weight defeating belief.   Another one is, “I’ve tried but I can’t lose weight”  “I’m a fat person.” “I am a thin person.”  It is easy to maintain my ideal weight.”  These are all powerful beliefs and our beliefs determine our outcomes.  Fortunately, beliefs can be changed.

 

 

 

Capabilities are our knowledge and the tools we possess in order to accomplish our outcomes.  Your capabilities are your tools to know how to get to where you want to be or you may have the capability to discover what you need to know to go where you want to be.

 

 

Behavior is what I do, my actions.  My behavior determines what I chose to eat.

 

Environment is your surroundings.  The environmental dieting approach is when you remove all the cookies and ice cream  from your home.  Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, they haven’t been removed from the world.

 

 

The majority of diet and weight programs are structured at the capabilities and behavioral level. 

 

How much more powerful and effective would we all be at trimming weight in order to reach our outcome when approaching this mission from the Spiritual, Identity or the Belief Logical Level?
