			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many years ago I was told we have an unconscious desire to find what we have lost. The unconscious mind is very literal. Applied to weight loss and weight reduction I thought better to discuss weight reduction than weight loss in order to facilitate fast, lasting weight loss or reduction and avoid for the reader the need to find the lost weight again.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization">SEO</a> feature of the internet gives a much higher ranking to statements about weight loss rather than weight reduction. No wonder it is so difficult for our society to slim down and maintain it — lol. It’s the internet’s fault. Therefore, in order to be more easily found on the internet and help a greater number of people I have accepted the reality of the situation and have begun talking about losing weight and weight loss. I even went back and changed most of my previous blog entries.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">You </span>do have the resources to <span style="text-decoration: underline;">change your behavior</span> by changing what you’ve been doing. To realize a slimmer you, you must create the change of belief on the inside. This is the underlying cause peope go on diet frequently don’t <span style="text-decoration: underline;">obtain and maintain the weight reduction</span>.</p>
<p>Won&#8217;t you abandon patterns of defeat. Change and move on to a more resourceful slimmer you.</p>
<p>The following are some tips for weight reduction:</p>
<p>Eat less food and lower calorie food (lower fat less sugar &amp; carbohydrates, more veggies &amp; fruit).</p>
<ul>
<li>Move more — find exercise you enjoy or you won’t do it.</li>
<li>Drink a lot of water.</li>
<li>Gradually increase your diet to include 35 grams of fiber a day.</li>
<li>Eat small portions every three hours to increase your metabolism.</li>
<li>Go to a sauna or steam room every other day to increase your metabolism.</li>
<li>Build muscle to increase your metabolism.</li>
</ul>
<p>According to <a href="=&quot;http://andrewtaustin.com/&quot;">Andy Austin</a>, it is all about eating less and moving more. This is just common sense but I have found in my experience true. But I’ve noticed as I’ve built additional muscle and slimmed down a slight increase in my weight. Muscle weighs more than fat but muscle helps to burn more fat effortlessly so muscle is a real benefit for those of us who want to reduce our weight.</p>
<p>Geraldine, my little inner child diet saboteur, has just advised me, “This is boring. Let’s do something fun.” That rascal, all she wants to do is have fun. Do you think she might be on to something there with this fun thing?</p>
<p>I gave her a bowl of high fiber cereal with blueberries. She is flipping the blueberries out of the bowl and eating them ignoring the cereal and milk. She insists on wearing her beach shirt because that was a fun trip even though it is raining outside. What can you do with such a little rascal?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Weight reduction, diet and exercise are all important facets to become thinner and healthier but have you considered that your body shrinks  faster than your skin? Yes, it&#8217;s true. I shrunk from a Woman&#8217;s 18 to a size 12 or 14 depending on the brand of clothing and that meant loose skin. Originally I thought arm exercises would take care of the issue and they did help build muscle to increase my metabolism which burns more fat but it didn&#8217;t address the loose skin.</p>
<p>I was complaining to my daughter-in-law about the yucky loose skin one day when she told me about these arm compression thingies that she used along with Palmer&#8217;s Cocoa Butter Lotion to shrink her arm skin. She said it would most likely take six months. I&#8217;ve been doing this for approximately a month and my arms look much better.  My arm skin has tightened considerably.</p>
<p>I wear the arm compression things in the evening and at night with the lotion. I also apply the lotion when I remove the compression thingies in the morning and really massage it in for best results. There are already noticable differences. Woo Who, I&#8217;ll be looking good sleeveless this summer.</p>

You broke the family pattern of becoming heavier with aging as your mom chose to do and became slimmer instead. Your choices make it so much easier for me to become and remain thin now and for the remainder of my life.</p>
<p>I remember when you had your first heart attack and how scary it was. You followed your doctor&#8217;s orders, met with the nutritionist and did an outstanding job of slimming down to a healthy weight. Your friends used to comment to me how thin you were.</p>
<p>Thank you for taking those steps, for breaking the mold so I could skip the heart attack and just be skinny.</p>
<p>I went shopping yesterday because my clothes were literally falling off of me. I looked like an aging rapper grabbing my pants to keep them from falling down but without the crotch grabbing.  Now I know why. I&#8217;m down to a size 12. Woo who size 10 here I come.</p>
<p>Geraldine and I will be thinking about you on Sunday.  Although you are no longer here so that we can celebrate Mother&#8217;s Day together you are always in my heart that is even healthier because of the sacrifices you made for me. I thank you for this and so much more&#8230;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Woo Who! My weight is the lowest it has been in the last thirteen years &#8211; accomplished easily while having fun and enjoying life. My thanks to Andy Austin for all of his help with sustained motivation and the ease of reducing 27 pounds since last fall. I previously reduced 25 pounds over the proceeding three and a half years that involved mucho yo yo dieting.  I consulted Andy once to identify and maintain the &#8220;Right Path&#8221; and the result is and continues to be excellentl. He accomplished this outcome by a combination of hypnosis and metaphor utilizing some of Charles Faulkner&#8217;s  work to identify the right path as well as his innovative Integrated Eye Movement  Therapy. </p>
<p>&#8220;Tee Hee&#8221;, says Geraldine, my inner child weight reduction saboteur, &#8220;I ate half a pan of brownies over the weekend.&#8221;  She is such an imp.  We had a dinner for a number of people Friday night who were interested in meeting one of the congressional candidates and discussing his platform.  I made the irresistible Ghirardelli Brownies for dessert. Recently a friend of mine who has been attending a weight reduction seminar in Atlanta, GA told me that it takes your metabolism 48 hours to recover from eating sugar. </p>
<p>That afternoon, Geraldine began by eating one brownie.  Then she said to me, &#8220;Since our metabolism is already wrecked for the next 48 hours we might as well eat as many brownies as we want.&#8221;  So she ate half the pan.  That Geraldine is such a little imp of a saboteur.</p>
<p>Now you can see why I am so pleased to be at my lowest weight in the last thirteen years and to have reduced my weight 27 pounds.  It&#8217;s a miracle with Geraldine&#8217;s preferred donut and fudge diet with half a pan of brownies thrown in for good measure.</p>
<p>My strategy to get back onto the &#8220;Right Path&#8221; and accomplish my weight outcome was to eat lots of fiber, with limited protein portions (eggs, chicken, turkey &amp; salmon) accompanied by unlimited veggies and limited portions of fruit?  I had a small portion of food every three hours as your metabolism is 30% higher while you are digesting food.  What strategy are you using to reduce your weight?  Inquiring minds like mine and Geraldine&#8217;s want to know.</p>

<p> There she is Miss Geraldine with her favorite chocolate donuts.  Fortunately for me, I do not like chocolate donuts.  Geraldine and my husband, Jack, are enjoying them or should I say fighting over them.  My friends call Jack, The Donut King.  He is able to eat these donuts without gaining weight. He might even lose weight.   What a metabolism!  I am so jealous.</p>
<p>My apologies for the delay in getting Geraldine&#8217;s picture posted.  There have beensome technical difficulties.  I am back to my lowest weight in years.  Although I gained two and a half pounds on my beach trip, I have already dropped it off with a high fiber diet, a walk around the lake yesterday with my girlfriend and chicken for dinner last night.  I have noticed that if I gain weight but take quick action &#8211; my body does not recognize the weight as a part of me and quickly eliminates it &#8211; weight loss quickly.  But if I wait&#8230;it&#8217;s much more work and a longer period of time to slough it off.</p>
<p>As the &#8220;Donut Battles&#8221; swirl around me, Geraldine is having a ball right now gobbling up as many donuts as she can cram into her mouth.  Since Jack is at work, she is unopposed at this time.  She is such a little devil. I have to go capture a couple of donuts for Jack&#8217;s return this afternoon.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m putting her on the chicken, broccoli, baby carrot with strawberries for dessert diet. </p>
<p>&#8220;No more donuts Geraldine.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;Waaaaaa!&#8221; </p>
<p>UT, oh &#8211; it&#8217;s getting noisy around here.  Take good care of yourself.</p>

<ul>
<li>Write down what you want to weigh &amp; when you will achieve it (trimming 1-2 lbs a week is a healthy gracious plenty).</li>
<li>Draw a picture of your weight outcome &#8211; you at your ideal weight. I have included the picture I drew.  You can see I am on the right path heading towards 140 pounds which is noted on my sign and I am on the Right Path to reduce my weight.  Your picture does not have to be this detailed.  it can be a stick picture as long as it incorporates the symbols that have meaning to you and reinforce your desire to reduce weight.</li>
<li>State in positive terms how you will achieve your ideal weight.</li>
<li>Put your picture on the wall.</li>
<li>Step back from your picture and move closer to it noting your reactions.</li>
<li>What barrier or barriers do you note behaviorally/environmentally.</li>
<li>What barrier or barriers do you note from other people.</li>
</ul>
<p>Now in order to reduce your weight:</p>
<ul>
<li>Read your goal &amp; look at your picture.</li>
<li>Notice how you are attempting to get to your goal &amp; the limits of your path. (There are limits because you are not where you want to be yet.)</li>
<li>Walk toward your weight reduction goal noticing how you have been doing things up until now.  Step to a neutral spot.</li>
<li>Think about a time when you had that goal or a similar goal and were successful in obtaining it.</li>
<li>Hold this successful experience in your mind and walk along the same path (the original path where you are attempting to get to your goal). </li>
<li>Then go back to and walk through your original path again.</li>
</ul>
<p>Shazam- you are magically on your way to attaining your goal.  Dr. Milton Erickson, the father of modern day hypnotherapy, said a goal without a date is only a dream.  Therefore, in order to get onto the right path and get to where you want to be &#8211; think in terms of trimming one or two pounds a week.  Look at a calendar and note where you can  realistically be with your weight in a month and set a goal.  Hint &#8211; exercise makes it much easier  to reach your ideal weight goal. </p>
<p>Geraldine, my inner child rascal, asks, &#8220;Where am I in your picture?&#8221;  I want to be in the picture waaaaa, waaaaaa!&#8221;</p>
<p>I responded, &#8220;Good question.&#8221;</p>
<p>If you have a little saboteur like mine you might want to incorporate their cooperation into your picture.  I am going to do another picture with Geraldine on the &#8220;Right Path&#8221; eating baked chicken, baby carrots, raw broccoli with fresh pineapple and strawberries for dessert. </p>

		<title>Geraldine Prepares For Her Photograph By Getting A Tan on The Beach</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Coming soon &#8211; Geraldine.  My entertaining character who gobbles up pancakes and candy when my back is turned while I continue on the Right Path to weight reduction.  Fortunately Geraldine likes turkey and fruit as well as some vegetables.  Not so much fish, unless it is fried, but I wait for her to take a nap to eat it baked or broiled.</p>
<p>While Geraldine is sun bathing working on her tan in order to look her best for her photograph next week I am making her a new dress.</p>
<p>She and I coexist in a classic struggle between my goal of attaining and remaining at a healthy weight and her desire to have fun.  Her definition of fun is eating whatever she pleases &#8211; especially if it is full of sugar.  Although on this trip to the beach she has developed a taste for gourmet Italian food.</p>
<p>We will return home on Friday and back to our very low fat turkey and veggie spiced with fruit diet.  Geraldine says, &#8220;It&#8217;s boring.&#8221;  Fortunately, She will have the thrill of having her photo published which will sustain her for a week or so.  I bought her a couple of new outfits so she is ready to rock and rock while I lose weight.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Geraldine, my mischievous inner child diet saboteur, will have her freckle faced photo posted here next week. Hide your heart girl. Geraldine says, &#8220;I&#8217;m here at Myrtle Beach, SC working on my tan to get ready for our first meeting.&#8221;  It looks like she is working on her freckles for her debut to me.</p>
<p>I left the table at breakfast yesterday, for just a moment, and while my back was turned  Geraldine ordered pancakes &#8211; the rascal. I have to admit they were good.  This morning we ate at the condo with eggs cooked in Pam and a sliced tomatoe on the side. Geraldine said, &#8220;I think I&#8217;ll sleep late.&#8221; Apparently healthy food does not get her out of bed.</p>
<p>I think she has some gummy bears hidden around here somewhere because when I kissed her goodnight last night her face was sticky.</p>
<p>I hope all the walks on the beach balance Geraldine&#8217;s high calorie food intake or it&#8217;s going to be a grim weight loss routine when we get home.</p>

<p>Geraldine is here with me at Myrtle Beach relaxing, soaking up the rays and getting a tan in order to make her photographic debut next week on this website when we return. She is daydreaming about Craig Ferguson&#8217;s inner child who she has a crush on now since we began following him on Twitter. That makes us members of Craigie&#8217;s Robo Skeleton Army awaiting the plinky ribcage xylophone call to war. &#8220;What?&#8221; as Craig says on his Late, Late Show.  &#8220;It&#8217;s a joke.&#8221;  Geraldine said, &#8220;I hope the call doesn&#8217;t come while we are at the beach.&#8221;</p>
<p>Geraldine and I are in the classical struggle between good and evil. She wants jelly donuts for breakfast while I insist on Fiber One cereal. Who will win tonight when we dine at the very gourmet Villa Tuscanna. We have a reservation at the Library on Wednesday, Geraldine gives it a thumbs up!   I give it a five star YUMMY.  Although Geraldine wanted to defect to become a reader&#8217;s inner child recently when she emailed us about enjoying an Chocolate Oreo souffle, her loyalty is firmly back in my court currently with the restaurant reservations and beach fun we have on tap for this week.</p>
<p>We walk on the beach every evening so that Geraldine can flirt with all the cute little boys she meets and I can exercise. Last night she meet three little doggies that although miniature&#8217;s were bigger than she is and much friskier. She said, &#8220;Where is Craig&#8217;s Robo Skeleton Army when I need it?&#8221;</p>
